Our First Girls Camp was held in August. The girls were encouraged to consider the basis of their identity and self-worth as it stands, and whether those ‘building blocks’ were stable or not. Choosing to structure one’s identity around stable principles boosts self-esteem and increases one’s sense of personal control. Self-esteem is increased when one feels secure in oneself, capable of regulating one’s thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Considering oneself in all these ways leads to increased self-awareness, which continues throughout one’s life and increases one’s sense of being in control of one’s life.

We have the privilege of working with and mentoring numerous exceptional teenagers who are all destined for greatness. On Saturday the 26th of September we had our Rising Star Workshop on Good decision-making. This is an essential life skill, but most people acquire it only through a process of trial and error — if at all. Our goal of this workshop was to equip the teenagers with powerful decision-making skills to help them better shape their futures. Better Decisions-Better Lives.
Workshop for our BEd students with Joan de Beer. We aim to create excellent learning experiences for undergraduates and to prepare them so they may thrive in education.
